Ric was the very best boss I ever worked for at Bell Canada. Some of you may know that our team would often go a few beers at lunch, and sometimes, only sometimes, we neglected to return to the office. Well, one afternoon, after several beers, at the Prescott, as a matter of fact, I was foolish enough to return to the office. Ric became aware of my condition, and called me into his office. He gave me that stern look he was so good at laying on you when things weren’t to his liking. “Don’t ever come back to the office when you’re drunk” ! Nothing else was said, no consequences. That’s all it took. NEVER AGAIN DID I return to the office inebriated! I just kept drinking !
