Obituary of Jeanne Giroux
In loving memory of Jeanne Hélène Giroux (née Deschamps) aged 72, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 28th 2022, at Extendicare Starwood in Ottawa surrounded by her devoted family after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Survived by her caring husband of 52 years, Claude Giroux and their loving children Raymond (Frannie), Jocelyne (Tim Fawcett) and Robert (Kanako). She was an amazing Mémé to her grandchildren Shotaro, Yukino, Ryutaro and Sophia. Eldest daughter of Léonard and Hélène (née Marois) both predeceased. Loved sister of Donald (predeceased) (Carolyn) of Ottawa, Roland (Julie) of Spring Bay, Maurice (Barbara), Gérald (Diane), and Denis (Lesley) all of Val Caron, Thérèse Finkle (Dan) of Hastings and Lise (Roman predeceased of Ottawa. Daughter-in-law to Rodolphe and Éliane (née Paradis) both predeceased and sister-in-law to Claudette Frawley (Mike) Val Caron. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was very involved with Paroisse Ste-Therese de l'enfant Jésus on various committees and was Hawkeye, a Beaver leader with First Hanmer Scout troop and earned her wood beads while living in Val Thérèse. In 1989, she and Claude moved to Embrun. She was manager of customer services at the Metro there. She went to Ottawa University and followed correspondence courses with Nipissing University to enhance her teacher's certificate to return to her calling by teaching Core French for 20 years, retiring in 2010. She was an avid knitter and quilter and many family members are recipients of her creations.

Friends are invited to visit at Cole Funeral Services, 2500 Baseline Road, on Tuesday, January 3rd from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Saint-Remi Catholic Church, 2821 Dumaurier Ave, on Wednesday, January 4th at 10:00 am, followed by a Reception at Pinecrest Remembrance Service.
