Obituary of Matilde Brunetti

Born in Italy on May 31,1943.

Deceased in Ottawa on April 21,2022.

Wife, Mother, Nonna, Friend, Sunshine. In every sunrise, we see your light. In every sunset, we feel your embrace.

For almost 79 years Matilde (Millie) brought joy, laughter and caring to everyone she knew. 

Matilde’s life was challenging in her early years, losing her parents at a young age. She knew the blessing and value of family and built her own with undying devotion, unwavering warmth and boundless love.

Companion to her beloved husband of 55 years Adriano, they shared a beautiful life together. 

A constant source of love and support to her cherished children Marilena (Ken Taylor) and Michael (Julie Simpson).  A Nonna that will be forever missed by her adored grandchildren Edalia (Taylor), Jordana, and Oskar (Brunetti). 

She cared deeply for her relatives in Italy, whom she shared a deep, on-going, loving connection. A piece of Matilde’s heart has always been in her hometown of Oratino, Italy. 

She had family and friends in Ottawa, Toronto and New York that built her extended family that she held dear and close.

She moved to New York in the mid-1960s, in her late teens, with the support of family there.  She studied business and eventually moved to Canada to work in a very successful career at the Royal Bank of Canada for 35 years. 

Matilde’s loss is felt in many hearts in different countries and cities.  She truly made all who knew her feel a tremendous amount of love.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stoke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.

Masks must be worn at all times.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Pinecrest Remembrance Services, 2500 Baseline Road, on Tuesday April 26, 2022 from 4:00p.m. - 8:00 p.m. EDT, for the visitation and wake.

Moglie, Madre, Nonna, Amica, Raggio di sole. In ogni alba, vediamo la tua luce. In ogni tramonto, sentiamo il tuo abbraccio. Per quasi 79 anni Matilde (Millie) ha portato gioia, risate e attenzione a tutti quelli che conosceva. La vita di Matilde è stata difficile nei suoi primi anni poiché ha perso i suoi genitori in giovane età. Conosceva la benedizione e il valore della famiglia e costruì la sua con devozione eterna, calore incrollabile e amore sconfinato. Compagna dell'amato marito Adriano per 55 anni, hanno condiviso una bella vita insieme.

Una fonte costante di amore e sostegno per i suoi amati figli Marilena (Ken Taylor) e Michael (Julie Simpson).  Una nonna che mancherà per sempre ai suoi adorati nipoti Edalia (Taylor), Jordana e Oskar (Brunetti). Si prendeva cura profondamente dei suoi parenti in Italia, con cui condivideva una connessione profonda, continua e amorevole. Un pezzo del cuore di Matilde è sempre stato nella sua città natale di Oratino, in Italia.

Aveva familiari e amici a Ottawa, Toronto e New York che hanno costruito la sua famiglia allargata e che lei aveva a cuore e sempre vicino. Si trasferì a New York a metà degli anni ‘60, nella sua tarda adolescenza, con il sostegno della famiglia.  Lì ha studiato economia e alla fine si è trasferita in Canada per lavorare, avendo una carriera di grande successo presso la Royal Bank of Canada per 35 anni.

La perdita di Matilde si fa sentire in molti cuori in diversi paesi e città.  Ha davvero fatto sentire a tutti coloro che la conoscevano un'enorme quantità di amore.

Al posto dei fiori, le donazioni alla Heart and Stoke Foundation of Ontario saranno apprezzate. Le maschere devono essere indossate in ogni momento. La famiglia e gli amici sono invitati a partecipare al Pinecrest Remembrance Services, 2500 Baseline Road, martedì 26 aprile 2022 dalle 16:00.m. - 8:00 p.m.  per la visita e la veglia.
