Even though I only met Rolly a few times when with my sister Connie I couldn't help but be drawn in by his laughter and love of life it was contagious. I am just one of the lucky ones to have had the pleasure of being in his presence. Thank you for sharing him with such a beautiful tribute. His joy will continue every time we think of him.

Grief is never something you get over. You don't wake up one morning and say, 'I've conquered that; now I'm moving on.' It's something that walks beside you every day. And if you can learn how to manage it and honour the person that you miss, you can take something that is incredibly sad and have some form of positivity. (Terri Irwin, wife of deceased Steve Irwin)
One day, Rolly and a sweet lady in our building named Verla Graham and I, went out to dinner. Our jaws were sore for a week, after all the laughter with Rolly. The takeaway is simple - turn a sad situation, into a positive memory. Rolly did just that. He was the epitome of Goodness and Happiness. The best that life has to offer to us.
Thanks, Rolly for sharing such grace and humour and kindness. (Rod Lahay in Rolly's building)

It is with sadness that I heard of Rolly's passing last Saturday. Rolly was the first person I met when I moved to 91 Valley Stream Drive five years ago today. My son had dropped off a shelving unit from my previous home for the den and left it near the front door as he parked his van. Rolly was coming through the door and called to me that the unit was caught by the wind - I was too late to catch it. We became friends immediately. When I go into my den I often think of Rolly when I see the shelving unit and hear his kind voice and laugh.
Rolly was a true gentleman and a true friend. For all his health issues, he never complained - would give a shrug and smile.
My heart goes out to his family whom he was so proud of. Rolly you are now a peace and will never be forgotten.
Sincerely,
Chris Tucker Apt 717

I got to know Rolly through my sister Connie. What a lovely man! He was so easy to talk with and had a wonderful sense of humour. The last time I saw Rolly was last October when he took Connie and I out to Manotick for lunch and he remarked what a beautiful sunny day it was. He was so happy to be out. I remember we had him laughing so much that tears were running down his cheeks. I will mis his cheerful laugh and warm smile. My condolences to Rolly’s family,
Laurie Periard
