Obituary of James Francis Mackie

James "Jim" passed away peacefully and with the love of his life, Phyll by his side on December 19, 2020.  He was the best father to Jim (Marion), Sue, Sandra (Don), Bruce (Jenn) and much-loved Papa to Laura (Warren), Colin (Amy), Ryan (Stacy), Kyle (Heather), James and Ewan.  He passed along a special love of ice cream to his great-granddaughter, Ruby James who will share stories of Papa with other great-grandchildren to come.  He was a good friend to many.

He was born in Halifax, NS to James and Irene Mackie.  Jim and Phyll (Fry) married in 1955.  The family moved to Ottawa in 1963 when he began working at the National Headquarters for Scouts Canada.

The family are so grateful to the entire staff of Timberwalk Retirement Community for their support and to Dr. Katerina Spacek for her kind and loving care.
