To our dearest brother and brother-in-law, Noubar
Your passing, even though not a surprise, shook us to the core. One is never ready for the inevitable. We always think it came too soon. Now, all we can do is cherish the fond memories of you and bid you farewell. We will never forget your cheerful disposition, your willingness to lend a helpful hand to any task in front of us, your fascinating stories, whether from personal experience, old family events, or world history. You were full of energy from day one. Your openness and sincerity were both invigorating and intoxicating. Your physical and mental capacities were phenomenal. In fact, you were always striving to keep them up by reading incessantly. And you put them to use in your professional and personal life to great effect.
One story that stuck with us is when, a few years ago, we were out of the country for 9 months and our cat had nowhere to go. You did not hesitate one second and took him in and looked after him all that time, even though you already had two more cats at home, one of whom was not easy to get along with! We will always remember your sincere love of cats and your curiosity to understand their psychology.
You found time out of your family responsibilities, including replenishing the house supplies, to devote loving care to your garden. It had grown to an impressive collection of all kinds of fruits and vegetables, plus beautiful roses. Your other great love was fishing, of course.
Now, after a lifetime of work and laughter, you are resting. Your good deeds and wonderful accomplishments will remain with us all our lives.
May your soul rest in peace, beloved Noubar.

My heartfelt condolences to Alidz, Annie, Nairi and their spouses Mihran and Michael!
I am deeply saddened! Lightning struck me when my sister Annie (Kazandjian) told me that Noubar has passed away!
I regret that I could not make it to attend Annie's wedding; my work held me back; Cyril was supposed to come but he had the flu.
I have regrets because I did not respond to Noubar's last email as I was still in the hustle and bustle of work... He was giving me diet advices after my heart attack in May.
I have regrets because I didn't wish him a Happy New Year, he was already among the angels!
May your soul rest in peace, Noubar!

You left Egypt when I was very young, but decades later fate reunited us in New York. I had the privilege of attending your wedding and now most recently your daughter’s. Your happiness, smile and your eagerness to become a grandpa will be forever etched in my happy memories. I will also cherish our long phone conversations especially when trying to complete the Bostanian family tree.

I am deeply saddened and truly sorry to hear of Noubar's passing. I first met Noubar when I began at AAFC, and from the very start, it was evident that he was a kind, honest, and cheerful soul. His warmth and sincerity left an indelible impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Noubar had an extraordinary gift for bringing light and positivity to any situation. He was always ready with a smile, a kind word, or a moment of laughter that could brighten even the most challenging days. Tu vas nous manquer…
Je te suis profondément reconnaissant, car tu m’as donné ma première chance en me recrutant à AAC pour travailler au sein de ton équipe de recherche et m'enseigner les méthodes de la recherche appliquée.
Personnage charismatique et attachant, tu devenais le centre d’attention la seconde que tu mettais les pieds dans le local que tu avais baptisé le « Café/bar chez Ben » au Centre de recherche de St-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Tu aimais bien nous entretenir sur l’histoire de la guerre, les sous-marins, les chars d’assaut, Churchill, … Tu aimais aussi nous trouver des surnoms de ton cru pendant ces quelques minutes de pause-café des plus divertissantes et qui n’ont jamais été aussi vivantes et colorées depuis ta retraite.

Noubar est un personnage attachant, ouvert à tout le monde et doté d’une personnalité très coloré qui le rend unique.
Son départ est trop vite pour nous tous et en sommes très attristé.
Nous souhaitons offrir nos condoléances à son épouse, sa fille sa sœur que nous avons connue lorsqu’elle travaillait au CRDH, ainsi qu’à toute la famille et ami(e)s.

I’m saddened by the news of passing away of Noubar Bostanian. I have only good memories and gratitude to Dr. Bostonian. He was my supervisor, my mentor, and the one who gave me a lifetime opportunity by hiring me for work at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada! Without him, I would probably not the person I’m today! I’m very grateful to him! Our gatherings at coffee breaks and in restaurants in his presence or when raising his name in his absence, were moments of pure joy and laughs sometimes with tears. He will be dearly missed! Rest in peace Noubar and Thank you for all you did for me! You’ll be always remembered for your good deeds!
