Obituary of Vasiliki "Bessy" Piteros
Vasiliki was born in Ano Hora, Nafpaktos, Greece, to parents Lambros and Anthoula Tzovas. In 1965, she moved to Canada to join her brother, Peter Tzovas, and start a new life. In 1966, she married Vasilis “Bill” Piteros, and together they began a family. They spent many years running successful restaurants while raising their children.
Vasiliki is survived by her husband, Vasili; her son, Louis; her daughter, Sophia; her son-in-law, Fernando; her beloved grandson, Lucas; her sister-in-law, Maria Tzovas; her niece, Anna; and her nephew, Lambros, along with their spouses and children.
She is also survived by her loving brothers- and sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, koumbaroi, goddaughters, extended family, and friends.
Vasiliki’s friendships spanned across Greece, Canada, and the United States. She lived a full and beautiful life, filled with many joys and incredible experiences. She leaves us with countless cherished memories and stories to continue sharing.
Visitation will be held at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church,1315 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment at Pinecrest Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow at the Church.
Friends and family are invited to gather back at the church after the burial to pay tribute to our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, koumbara, and friend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church.
