Obituary of Jérôme Lafleur
With deep sadness, the family announces the passing of Jerome "Jerry" at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice after a brief but courageous fight with brain cancer.
Jerome was a devoted husband, father, and friend, whose memory will be cherished by his wife of 57 years, Hélène; his son Jean-Pierre; his daughter Michelle; son-in-law Steve; granddaughters Ashley and Valerie; six brothers; three of his four sisters; four of six in-laws; and his two beloved cats.
He was known for his warmth, generosity, sense of humor, and talent as the neighborhood tinkerer, always ready to repair a bicycle or small engine. Many fondly remember gathering in his sunroom on winter nights, warmed by the glow of the wood stove and the sounds of his harmonica shared among close friends.
A retired stationary engineer, Jerome will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association.
