Obituary of Ronald Keith McCooeye
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Ronald Keith McCooeye on October 8 2024.
Ron is predeceased by Linda, his wife and best friend of 55 years, and his son Todd. He is survived by his daughters Tammy, Veronica (Steve) and Shannon (Rob), his grandchildren Ashley (Robbie), Blake (Jamie), Ronald (Mel) and Mackenzie as well as his great grand children Payton, Teagan, Colton, Saphira and Kingston and his faithful companion Buddy.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Ron was very active in his community, planning Canada Day parties, dances and children’s Christmas parties among other things, at the local community center. He was involved in outdoor rink maintenance for the city of Ottawa for over three decades.
Ron had a love for curling (both playing and watching), NASCAR racing, camping on the St Lawrence and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
He was loved and will be missed by many, especially his Three Girls.
A memorial service will be held at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, 2500 Baseline Road, on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 at 4:30pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Special Olympics Canada is appreciated.
