Obituary of Mihaela Popescu

March 29, 1946- September 11, 2024

Mihaela Popescu, 78, residing in Kanata, Ontario passed away on September 11, 2024, at Queensway Carleton Hospital. Born Mihaela Ionescu on March 29, 1946, in Bucharest, Romania, Mihaela was the daughter of the late Iancu and Silvia.

Mihaela was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Petre Popescu; her children, Ioana and Paula; and her 6 cherished grandchildren.

A graduate of the University of Bucharest, Mihaela spent her career as a successful metallurgical scientist working for the Government of Canada. She was also a passionate gardener and enjoyed sewing, cooking, music and painting during her free time creating beautiful pieces for family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Highland Park Cemetery, Carp

Mihaela's legacy of kindness and dedication will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
