Obituary of Nicki Anagnosti
Passed away peacefully at Stoneridge Manor, Carleton Place, on Saturday, September 7, 2024. Nicki was the dearly loved wife of the late Vasil (Bill) Anagnosti and a cherished mother to Anna (David) and Sokratis (Bari-Leigh). She was a devoted grandmother to Kristina and Alexandra.
Nicki is survived by her sister Christina and brother-in-law Costas Siolis in Greece. She was predeceased by her parents Leonidas and Konstantina, as well as her siblings Georgina and brother-in-law Thanasi Psixoliou, Eleni and brother-in-law Dimitri Nickopoulos, and sister Vasiliki and brother Tommy and sister-in-law Nadine Panagiotopoulos. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Ottawa and Greece.
Immigrating to Canada from Paradisia, Greece, in the late 1950s, Nicki settled in Ottawa. There she worked at various Greek restaurants and she made a home with her husband and children in the house they bought in the early 1970's. She will be remembered for her zest for life and the joy she found in her grandchildren after the passing of her beloved husband. Nicki’s home was a gathering place for family and friends, where meals, laughter, and stories were shared.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 1315 Prince of Wales Drive, on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.,followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Stoneridge Manor for their support in her final years.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
