Obituary of Marc Andrew Paul Cronier
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Marc Andrew Paul Cronier wishes to announce his passing after a long hard-fought battle with terminal brain cancer at the age of 53 while in care at Saint-Vincents Hospital on Wednesday July 17, 2024. Marc endured the struggles presented to him with grace, resilience, positivity and celebrated each day as the blessing it was.
Marc was born in Ottawa, Ontario to Denise and Gilbert Cronier on September 3rd, 1970. He was the third born of five loving brothers whose loyalty and love had always remained strong. Marc was a friend and role model, a man who did not take life too seriously but never shied away from a hard day’s work. Marc’s work life included helping to run a family-owned restaurant for 15 years, followed by 7 years working at a Concrete Plant alongside many friends and family. Finally, Marc was a CAA tow truck driver for 13 years before having to decide to leave his working life behind to focus on his health and treatment.
To say that Marc had one hobby or passion would do injustice when describing how he was as a person. Marc was a self-taught man who could learn and do anything he set his mind to. He has been a rock to many in their times of need while never asking for anything in return even in his final days. A master at making everyone laugh and feel loved, Marc put a smile on everyone’s face that had the pleasure to cross paths with him. It takes a special type of person to always place the needs of others before themselves, but that was Marc, a man with a heart that was so kind and pure he dedicated his life to helping others no matter the task.
Loving father to Cayla (Stephanie), Taylor (Ricky) and Andrew. Proud grandfather to Austyn and Madison. Devote son of Denise and Gilbert. Loyal brother of Wayne (Holly), Ronald (Jenn), Douglas and Christopher (Terri). Marc is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins
