It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Fresque (nee Jones) on June 10, 2024 after a long struggle with breast cancer. Beloved wife and best friend of Eric, loving and proud mother of Jennifer (Yvon) and Jeff. Cherished sister of Pam Mitchell (Ken), Kathy Peters (Earl) and Maureen Jones. Predeceased by her parents James and June Jones. Karen was an accomplished educator, equestrian and musician. A graduate of Ottawa University faculties of Music and Education, she taught Grade 1 with the Ottawa Catholic School Board at St. Rita’s and was widely known for hatching ducklings in her class for many years. An incredibly strong person, Karen was known for her sense of humour, infectious smile and was always ready to help others, including her multitude of Facebook friends.
