Obituary of Michael Lavergne
With great sadness we announce the passing of Michael John Patrick Lavergne on May 19, 2024, peacefully at home at the age of 57 after a courageous battle against cancer.
Mike was born on August 14,1966, in Ottawa. He leaves behind the love of his life, Anita Lavergne (Van Ryswyk). Mike was the cherished ‘bonus Dad’ to Christopher Schuurmans (Brianna Collis) and Gregory Schuurmans (Emily Doran) and proud Opa to Maya and Hannah. Survived by his mom, Edith May (DeeDee) Lavergne, his brother Terry Lavergne, his sister Tracey Lavergne and niece Erin. Predeceased by his dad Patrick Lavergne.
Mike loved life, adventure and had big dreams. Mike loved nature and the outdoors. He would often find a sunny batch in our bush, sit on his ATV enjoying the sun beaming down on him, listening to the birds and following the many animal tracks. Mike was a great Nascar fan, and he could tell you the history of Nascar and who won each race.
Mike was a truck driver all his life. Prior to his disability from kidney disease, Mike was the proud driver of truck #156 at Thomas Cavanagh Construction.
Special thanks to Kelly, his primary nurse who took such great care of him.
