Obituary of Elena (“Nuți”) Toarta

Elena passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024 at the age of 91. She was born on May 28, 1932 in Bucharest, Romania

Elena (“Nuti” for her friends, “Tita” for her husband and grandson) is survived by her husband, Gheorghe (“Victor”) , her son, Bogdan,  her grand-son, Cristian and her grand-grand-son Leonardo.

Above all, Elena cherished her marriage with Victor, her partner in life since 1957. As a mother she was totally dedicated to her son and later raised her grandson being loved and respected

Elena liked to dance until late in her life, she was an avid book reader and had a sweet tooth for chocolate and ice cream. During her professional life as an accountant, she loved elegance, always following fashion of the day but was modest and didn’t hesitate to design and make her own clothes having a real gift for “haut-couture”.  In retirement she was fascinated by toddlers and young kids who always made her laugh.

Her presence will be missed by her family and anybody who knew her. In her late years she had to fight an incurable disease that slowly took away her dearest memories. Despite this, until the last moment, she was kind and bright.

She is gone, but we will always remember her smile.

Elena s-a stins din viață in liniște pe data de 3 februarie, 2024 la vârsta de 91 de ani. S-a născut pe data de 28 mai, 1932 la București.

Elena (“Nuți” pentru prieteni, Tița pentru soț si nepot) lasă in urma pe soțul ei, Gheorghe (“Victor” numai pentru  Elena), fiul ei, Bogdan, nepotul ei , Cristian, si strănepotul Leonardo. Mai mult decât orice, Elena, a divinizat căsătoria ei cu Victor, partenerul ei nedespartit” de viață din 1957 si pana azi. Ca mama s-a dedicat total fiului ei si mai târziu l-a crescut si pe nepotul ei Cristian, fiind iubita si respectata.

Elenei i-a plăcut sa danseze, a citit cu ardoare sute de cârti si a avut o slăbiciune pentru ciocolata si înghețată. In timpul vieții profesionale, ca si contabil, i-a plăcut eleganta, întotdeauna fiind îmbrăcata după ultima moda, dar a fost modesta si nu a ezitat sa-si facă singura hainele, având un adevărat dar pentru croitoria de clasa. După pensionare a fost fascinata de bebeluși si copii mici care întotdeauna au făcut-o sa rada

Familia si toți cei care au cunoscut-o ii vor simți lipsa. In ultimii ani o boala incurabila i-a distrus treptat memoriile cele mai dragi. In ciuda bolii până in ultimul moment a rămas calda si luminoasa.

Elena s-a stins din viață, dar ne vom aduce întotdeauna aminte de zâmbetul ei.
