Obituary of Robert Dennis McFall
Robert Dennis McFall
June 23, 1948-January 22, 2024.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of a dearly loved husband, dad and grandfather in hospital on January 22, 2024 after a long illness in his 76th year.
Beloved husband of Suzanne (née Bourne) and loving father to Amy, Ian, Sarah (Walter), Meghan, Laura and Emily. Grandfather to Matthew, Eli, Ehvah and Adalee. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in the USA.
Predeceased by his parents, Patrick Joseph Sr. and Laura Margaret McFall (nee Mowry), and his two older brothers, John Franklin and Patrick Joseph McFall Jr. Youngest brother to Mary, in her 94th year, still living in Pennsylvania.
Bob was born in New Kensington, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania, USA on June 23, 1948 and enlisted in the United States Army when he was 18 years old in August of 1966. He proudly served two tours of duty in Vietnam and one tour in Korea. After immigrating to Canada in 1972, he settled in Ottawa where he met the love of his life, Suzanne.
In better times, he loved to go fishing with his kids when they were young and full of fun. He was also an avid wrestling and football fan and thoroughly enjoyed going to wrestling matches and football games with his son, Ian. Later in life, Bob was happiest at home where he was especially fond of his pet cats and playing video games.
The family would like to thank Bayshore Home Care (Mark), the paramedics who assisted Bob at home, the ER and ICU physicians at the Queensway Carleton Hospital and the palliative care team on 3D for their excellent and attentive care.
Interment in Pinecrest Cemetery to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Barrhaven Animal Resources would be greatly appreciated at barlh@bell.net.
