Obituary of Margaret Marie Stocker Swain

91, passed away on January 15, 2024. She was surrounded by her loved ones.

Margaret (Marg) Swain was born November 6, 1932 and grew up in a family of eight on a farm in Stoughton, Saskatchewan with brothers Victor (Leona), Ken, Marcel (Violet), Jack (Mary) and sisters Joan (Aime), Doreen and Joyce. She always spoke fondly of all her family and relatives out west and shared fond memories of growing up in rural Saskatchewan.

She moved to Manitoba to study Nursing (1957) and met and married the love of her life Lloyd Reginald Swain and they had four children David, Doug, Darren (Britton) and Lisa (Shane).  In 1968, they settled in Ottawa to raise their family.

Marg continued her nursing career until retirement. Her retirement was kept busy with her two grandchildren Adam and Tyler and gave her the time to reconnect with her painting skills while enjoying her yard work.

Marg was predeceased by her parents Victor and Mary, her husband, Lloyd, sons David and Doug, brothers Kenneth and Jack, brother-in-law Gilbert Guillemin. She is survived by her children, Darren and Lisa as well as her grandchildren, Adam and Tyler, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Many thanks to the Peter D. Clark staff for all their care over the years.
