Obituary of Martha Shupe (nee Heintz)

Peacefully passed away at Laurier Manor Nursing Home, Ottawa, on Friday, December. 1, 2023, at the age of 94 years.

Beloved wife of Rae Shupe (passed in 2011). Loving mother of Tina (John), dearest grandmother of Elizabeth and Eric, and great-grandmother to Cedric and Amelie.

Predeceased by her parents David and Judith Heintz, brothers Emanuel (Grace) Heintz, Carl Shantz, Clarence (Eileen) Heintz, Sid (Beuhlah) Heintz, David Jr. (Carol) Heintz, Leonard and sisters Sarah (Enoch) Martin, Mary (Cleon) Brubacher, and Alice (Stan) Metzger, and Sally (Eugene) Shantz. Survived by sister-in-law Martha Shantz, Pearl Heintz and Marilyn Brubacher.

Martha lived a full life and enjoyed her gardens around the house. She was an active member of the Metropolitan Bible church for many years. She had a long career starting with Dares cookies, nursing and Daycare worker.  She enjoyed talking to people and always a warm inviting smile for everyone.

A graveside ceremony will be scheduled for next summer when the weather will be warmer, her favorite birds, cardinals and Bluejays will be flying about and the flowers are in bloom.
