Obituary of Qi Rong Cao

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Qi Rong Cao on August 21, 2023, at the Ottawa General Hospital. She is survived by her loving family: her husband Dong Sheng Yang and their three children, Lily, Isaac, and Albert.

Qi Rong was born in Nanchang, China on November 1, 1970, to parents from Yixing in the Jiangsu province. She excelled in school, eventually earning an Electrical Engineering degree before moving to Beijing for work where she met and married Dong Sheng. They immigrated to Canada in 2004, landing briefly in Toronto before settling in Kanata. She’s remembered by her friends as kind, inviting, and generous, happily dropping off home-cooked meals and fresh vegetables from her garden. Her top priority was always her children and we’ll never forget her strength or the warmth of her love. She will be missed beyond words.

A memorial service will be held at Highland Park Cemetery (2037 McGee Side Road, Carp, Ontario K0A 1L0) on November 4, 2023, from 1-3 PM followed by an internment. All are welcome.
