Lillian (Lynne) Colvey

Obituary of Lillian (Lynne) Colvey

We honour the life of Lynne Colvey, who passed on Sept 6, 2023. Born in Saskatoon, Lynne studied nursing at St. Mary’s hospital in Montreal and then began her nursing career in Ottawa. She retired at 71 after caring for hundreds of people. Well known for her tenacity, organizational skills, dry sense of humour and sharp wit she was also an artist creating lush gardens and outfitting many with her beautifully crocheted or knitted sweaters, socks, scarfs, hats, and mittens. Her hand knitted blankets and tea towels are cherished by her family. She was a world traveller who never turned down an opportunity for adventure. She leaves behind five children: Patricia, Shelagh, Sean (Manon), Eileen and James McNally (Karen Bowman). Six grandchildren: Kelly Leroux (Marc), Kerri Kitts (Bryson), Shannon Tosic-McNally (Kyle Powell), Azalee, Mattisse and Léonie Mongrain-McNally. And four great granddaughters: Anna Lise and Emma Lynne Leroux, Lily and Lucy Mae Kitts. Lynne was a woman of style, and artistic talent who loved flowers, travel and cooking. She will be missed.

Friends and family may pay their respects at Cole Funeral Services & Pinecrest Remembrance, 2500 Baseline Road on Saturday, October 7, at 1 p.m. A reception and visitation with family is planned for after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be appreciative of a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
