Dear Catherine, David and Andrea,
Dennis was a wonderful friend, and pickleball and euchre partner. We loved his unconventional approach to the games and his witty humour. He will be missed dearly. Hoping our fond memories will bring a smile to your faces. Sending sincere condolences.
Joanne and Michael

Our deepest sympathy, Catherine, David and Andrea. We shared many wonderful memories living close to each other including spontaneous meals. One of Dennis's favourites had to be Chinese noodles. Dennis somehow was able to get the bus driver on McCurdy to wait while Dennis ran on the trail to it. Made it every time. Our love to all of you from Phil, Lucy, Clarissa & Serena

We had a special 'in-law' connection. Whenever we were together we would always have a private joke and would laugh about it for sometimes months, even years after.
Dennis was always into new technology! I remember the time the GPS (the size of an iPhone) was portable and had to be plugged into the car. Dennis played around with that thing for hours. We went on a drive, he tried out all the different female voices to see which one he liked best and made fun of all of them. Then he purposely would go in the wrong direction and the darn thing would constantly say 'recalculating' We laughed until our bellies were sore!
Sending Catherine, David and Andrea my love xo
Dennis, you will always have a special place in my heart...miss you...love you xo

Many will remember Dennis as a hard working family man and as a senior member of the community. I will remember him as a youth who made every moment special. Weather it was his charming personality, his good looks or his bad jokes, he attracted some good friends in south Etobicoke area where we grew up. In time I felt privileged to call him my best friend. In 1975 Dennis gave me the honour of being the Best Man at my wedding. We had a mutual respect for each other and some mutual friends that made me feel that he was more like a brother to me.
When in 1981 Dennis moved to Ottawa and eventually was married with kids of his own we drifted apart.
Fast forward to 2012 when my Wife and I retired and moved to Wasaga Beach. We were free of the encumbrances of kids and work when we reached out and re-connected with my brother-from-another-mother.
I must say that the last ten years have been pretty darn good. I have learned through Dennis that his core values of fairness, firmness, love and joy do not diminish through time. That whether you are 16 or 70 years young you can still be true to yourself as Dennis has done.
Good Bye my friend and my chosen brother. You have taught me how to be a good person to the end
