Obituary of Bryan Wheeler

Loving husband of Nancy (McGee) (1991). Predeceased by son Todd (1963), Father Albert Wheeler (1995), Stepmom Violet (2002) Wheeler), his mother Phyllis Page (1999) and brothers Terry (1995) and Brayden (2011) Wheeler.

Beloved Father of Robyn, Starr (Randy) and April (Dan). Proud Grandpa with a very special bond for Jonathan who he helped raise, the son he always wanted. A very loving Grandpa to Glenn, Todd, Kara, Kaylea, Kyle, Kodey, Jason, and Peyton. Proud Great-Grandpa to Tara, Roderick, Dean, Octavia, and Valencia.

He will be sadly missed by all his nieces and nephews and his many friends and neighbours at the Kings, Daughters, and Sons Community.

Bryan was the first male caregiver for the Ottawa Children’s Village of Ottawa. He made such an impact on the children’s lives, the relationships continued throughout the years. He was an RNA at St. Patrick’s Home for many years where he was able to truly share his compassion by taking care of the residents. Bryan also selflessly volunteered at Bruce House. With his caring heart, he would hold the hands of the dying so they would not be alone.

Bryan also loved beautiful flowers and especially house plants. They thrived with his tender touch. He created and cared for gardens all around his building for everyone to enjoy.

He brought light wherever he went and was the life of the party in every room that he walked into with his infectious sense of humour and storytelling. He always brought laughter, sunshine, and smiles to all that knew him. He sure could tell a story and we all loved to listen and laugh.

As per Bryan’s wishes, a private family interment will take place Thursday June 29, 2023.

The family would like to thank you for reaching out with all your heartfelt condolences. It is greatly appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
