Obituary of Victor Saikaly

Victor Hanna Saikaly of Lombardy, Ontario, born in Kfarmechke, Lebanon, February 2, 1934, son of the late Hanna Ayoub and Afifi Saikaly, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 10, 2023.  Predeceased by his loving  wife Lillie Lavina (nee Snider) and son Steve Esau.  Survived by his loving children Keith, Kathleen (Christopher), Salem (Catherine) and Edward (Kristina).  Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 13 great grand-children, 2 great-great grand-children, his brother Salem and sisters Sonia, Samiha, Fahima and many nieces and nephews.  Also predeceased by his siblings Phillip, Sameh, Victoria, Violette, Sohila and Florence.

Victor loved to cook and was the proud owner of Victor's Restaurant in Stittsville from 1971 to 1992, Jarred's restaurant in Perth, a Deli in Balderson, Lombardy Diner and Mr. Victor's Diner in Perth, Ontario.  He also owned and worked at a variety of groceries stores and restaurants in Ottawa since he came to Canada in 1954.  He loved to tease his customers and he loved when they teased him.   His customers had the pleasure of sitting with him for a quick chat and family updates.  He really missed them after he retired in 2020.

A Funeral Service will take place in the Chapel at Cole Funeral Services & Pinecrest Remembrance, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Thursday, May 18, 2023, 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Pinecrest Cemetery.  A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Victor can be made to your local foodbank.

He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
