Obituary of Janice Elizabeth Munro
After a battle with cancer, Janice passed away peacefully at home late on April 14th, surrounded by loving family.
Survived by her wife Kate Condon, mother Nancy Robertson, brother Mike (Murielle) Munro, sister and best friend Marcie (Kevin) Platt, nephews Michael Platt and Ryan Munro (Rachel Carrier), and her devoted feline fur-baby Captain (aka Bubby). Pre-deceased by her father Lawrence Munro.
Janice was little but mighty and fought cancer with all her strength. She was strong-willed and sure of her wish to leave this world on her own terms right until the end. Although she had lived in Ontario for over 30 years, Janice was still a Maritimer at heart. Like a true Maritimer, she made friends wherever she went, due to her caring, kind, and thoughtful personality. Janice was a talented cook and loved collecting recipes and adapting them to her own taste. She also loved Smurfs and, thanks to her tattoos, had Smurfs running all over her body! We will forever miss her smile and laughter and silly sense of humour.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue are appreciated.
