Obituary of Mark Vincent Foley
After a long, hard-fought battle with ALS, Mark passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, in hospital with his loving wife by his side. He was 66. Mark is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Janet (Kennedy) and their four sons he was so proud of: Vincent (Charly), Shaun (Ashley), Blair (Sarah) and Grant. Doting and proud Grandpa to Charley, Everett and Kennedy, and Grandpa M to Rylan. Mark was predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Bernadette Foley and his brother Donald (D.A.). Survived by his brother Carroll, and sisters Rita Ovington, Phyllis Cross (Keith Anderson) and Marie Dolan (George). Mark will be forever missed by his in-laws Patricia Foley, Heather Kirk (Howard) and Peggy Brule (Gary Foster), his special mother-in-law Ruth (late George Kennedy) and many nieces and nephews. A very heart-felt thank you to Mark’s special angels, Cynthia and Lindsay. A message from Mark: "To the Canadian Bank Note, City of Ottawa and Thomas Cavanagh Construction and our other valued customers, not only did I appreciate the work, I also really appreciated the money!" The Boys will look after you from here on in. To the employees over the last 45 years, even if you got the dogger-of-the month-award or the most-broken-glass-award, thank you, we had fun! To the staff and friends at the Prescott and the restaurants from Kanata to Arnprior, and from Goodland, Marco Island and Naples Florida, we had a blast!
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church 1135 March Road, Kanata on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. followed by an inurnment at St. Isidore Cemetery. A Celebration of Mark's life will be held at Highland Park Cemetery Reception Centre, 2037 McGee Side Road, Carp at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation or the Ottawa Heart Institute.
