I think of Christine all the time. We worked together for not that long. But everyone who spoke at her celebration said it so beautifully. She had this infectious, beautiful and bubbly personality. But yet clam and collected and always attentively listening. I miss her more than I can explain in words. I don’t think I’ll ever completely understand why god decided to call her home this early. Know that you’re never forgotten and I cherish our chats until the end of times. ❤️

Dear Desgroseillier Family and Nathan Siydock,
Our daughter, Jen Hussey had the pleasure of working with and befriending Christine in her years in Neurosurgery at the Civic Hospital. They were kindred spirits and shared some wonderful experiences together. Jen was heartbroken to inform us that she had lost this wonderful friend earlier this month . We never had the privilege of meeting this wonderful and special woman. We are heartbroken for your loss of a wonderful sister, daughter and precious partner and friend and special colleague to many .

My deepest condolences to Christine’s family. I had the pleasure to have Christine as my clinical instructor for my Med/Surg nursing placement. Christine was an incredible teacher. Christine has positively impacted my growth as a future nurse and will cherish our moments we had in clinicals forever.

We didn't know Christine very well but judging by the stories and photographs, she was a person who loved life to the limit. I want to express my deepest sympathy and condolences to the Desgroseillliers family. I hope they accept my posting as appropriate. I had not had the pleasure of meeting Christine. On March twenty-second I was returning from Ottawa to my home on the west coast. The previous week had been at my brother's bedside with his family saying good bye in the Hospice facility at the Brockville General Hospital. He left us on the nineteenth. When I took my seat on the plane, it was apparent that the couple next me was very sad and in a state of apparent disbelief. They were also speaking to two men in the row behind us.
Shortly into the flight the opportunity presented for me to speak with one of the men. He was Christine's brother Daniel, and with him, Christine's very special person, Nathan. The people next to me were her parents. Daniel explained to me what had happened and the tragic phone call his parents had received from the Kelowna General Hospital the night before. During the balance of the flight, in sad and gentle conversation Christine's parents spoke of her goodness and her caring attitude and joy of life. I mentioned that my late brother had lost a son in his twenties,. my nephew, in a tragic accident.. Sharing of losses can be helpful. Christine's family was attempting to make sense of their situation. All I could offer was total sympathy for their loss and I hope a gentle word about the beauty and amazing life of the daughter they described to me. The pictures they showed me of her were exceptional in different settings, and showed, in each case, an active, smiling Christine. I wish the family, only love and an experiential knowledge that while it will be a long road, peace will be restored to their lives. Christine will be with them forever. Please accept my deepest feelings for your loss.

I'm extremely saddened to learn of Christine's tragic passing. I was one of her teachers at Parkwood Hills PS. All these years later, I have a vivid memory of Christine's smile, her laughter, her vibrance, her sensitivity and her earnestness. I'm sorry I didn't get to know the adult she became. It comes as no surprise that she was a compassionate nurse; I can absolutely see her in that hardworking and caring role. My deepest condolence to Anne and family. I had the privilege of working with Anne for over 30 years on F7 and NACU. I remember Anne pregnant with Chistine and us sharing stories of our kids growing up and how both our daughters went into nursing. It was a privilege to finally meet Chistine when she came to work in NACU. She was always so bubbly and happy even if it was a crazy busy shift. What a joy Chistine was to work with. She made friends so easily because she was extremely likeable and outgoing. We talked about how my Aunt, Corrine Baxter, was her piano teacher and how it is a small world. Anne, my heart goes out to you, your husband and the family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Xo

As a colleague of Anne’s and then friend of Anne and Andy, I met Christine just a few times as a younger lady. I remember being immediately struck and drawn to her unique energy. After she too became my colleague, I witnessed her loving connection to her patients. How lucky they were to have her!!
It was such a pleasure to watch her facebook posts, following her travels, exploring the world and really living her life!! Most people never live as much as she did in her short life!
One wonders why such an incredible human is taken so young- but I know she will continue shining her light and helping others as a loving angel…
My biggest condolences to Anne, Andy, Daniel, Nate and all her family - my prayers that you can take comfort from one another as Christine watches over you all…

Christine helped me through my faith and discipled me during my time navigating my degree in nursing. She would listen, pray and provide compassion. She was always finding beauty in every detail. Her energy was contagious and her laughter made the whole room light up. I am truly grateful for my relationship with her and how God aligned and built our friendship. I pray For healing for every broken heart she left behind and I pray God brings peace through these hard times.
