Obituary of Clifford Hector Ford
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clifford Ford. Cliff Ford, born on January 6, 1938, of Ottawa, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on February 23, 2023, surrounded by family and his beloved wife Diane (nee Milks) gently holding his hand. He married Diane, the love of his life, in 1961, who survives him. Cliff is also survived by his son Shawn and wife Nancy (nee Lyons), daughter Kim and partner Carl Schultz, youngest son Rob, cherished grandchildren Grace, Curtis and Harrison, adored god-daughter Cheryl McCann (nee Fong), and many nephews and nieces, extended family and friends. Cliff was predeceased by his mother Eunice (nee Scott), brothers Arnold, Reggie, sisters Theresa and Eunice.
“Cliff was known for his love of playing basketball around Centre town and Mechanicsville in his youth, then later with his grandchildren. Cliff pioneered the early days of computers and binary, eventually retiring from his senior Government of Canada position after 35 years with the Department of Information Processing. He never stopped learning and was always on his computer working on one project or another. He loved spending time outdoors and taught his family how to ski, hike and camp in the beautiful Gatineau Hills. His remaining golden years saw him proudly enjoying his grandchildren’s many sports and scholastic achievements."
The family held a small private service at Cole Funeral Home where his ashes will be interred beside his mother Eunice and sister Theresa at a future date when the love of his life joins him again to be together forever.
