Obituary of Evelyn Andrews
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn Louise Andrews (nee Halladay) on March 1, 2023, at the age of 95 years. Beloved wife of the late Frederick Andrews. Loving mother of David (Nancy) of Thunder Bay and Bonnie (Bruce) of Ottawa. Cherished grandma of Matthew (Heather), Heather Lynn, Kathryn, Rob, Melynda (Rick), Jennifer (Shayne) and Paul (Stephanie). Devoted great-grandma to Peter, Jackson, Ruby, Lucas, Talya, Myah, Isabel, Mason, Caelan, Roxy, Ryan and Kimberly. Predeceased by her brother Curtis (the late Daisy).
In Air Force tradition, Lynn moved with her husband and children to locations throughout Canada and then to London, England, when her husband was stationed at various bases, finally settling in Ottawa.
Lynn was an accomplished seamstress and cook. She also enjoyed gardening, genealogy and many other activities. Lynn was an avid lawn bowler, playing both in Ottawa as a charter member of Nepean Lawn Bowls, and in Florida during the winter. Lynn and Fred enjoyed travelling in North America and Europe and spent several winters in Florida. Lynn’s final 11 years were spent at Valley Stream Manor, where she was an active resident and a force to be reckoned with.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 10 am to 11 am at the Pinecrest Visitation Center (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa). Memorial Service to follow in the Pinecrest Chapel at 11 am. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow in the Pinecrest Solarium.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated by the family. Click HERE to donate.
