Obituary of Ian Winston Phillips

Ian passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023 at the age of 79 in Ottawa, Ontario. Ian was born on October 15, 1943 in Halifax to Bernice (nee Gates) and Walter Phillips. He grew up in a military family, living in towns in Nova Scotia, Miramachi, NB, Montreal, QC and Ottawa, ON. Ian had a long and successful career at Bell Canada. He is survived by his loving partner of 30 years, Mary Ann Kennedy; three daughters, Wendy, Kelley (Chris) and Penny (Scott); grandchildren Holly, Wesley and Sydney; brother Max (Sharon) and nieces Karen and Joanie (predeceased). Ian lived a simple, quiet life. He enjoyed reading, nature, his cars, travelling to sunny spots, and loved his family. At his request, there will be no funeral service, a private celebration of his life will take place in the spring.
