Obituary of Sue Mousseau
After a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer, Sue passed away peacefully on December 28th, 2022 at the Ottawa General Hospital.
Dear daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (nee Tysick) Dickson. Beloved wife of Brian. Loving mother of Jenny. Much loved son-in-law Stephen Wrigley and his children; Olivia, Nolan, and grandpets; Willow, Rosie, and Ivy. Predeceased by sisters, Dorothy, Mavis, and brother Charlie. She is also survived by sisters Lillian Powers, Sylvia Schafer, Marlene Lafrance, Joyce Gauthier, brother Richard, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
After finishing high school, she joined the Federal Government and worked at Consumer and Corporate Affairs, Department of Agriculture (Lethbridge), Stats Canada and Department of Fisheries and Oceans until her retirement. Upon retiring she dedicated time to helping others subsequently volunteering and eventually working part-time at St. Patrick’s nursing home until relocating to Stitsville in 2020.
Sue had many hobbies over the years such as doing stained glass, baking, playing cards, gardening, crocheting, and knitting to name a few. She loved pets and was constantly grooming, pampering and feeding them. Most of all she loved being with her people (friends, colleagues, and family). When she spoke, her words would make you blush, smile, or laugh. A shy individual who never wanted to be the center of attention but who often became just that.
Sue was a caring and loving person who will truly be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of being around her.
The family would like to thank the staff at the cancer centres at the Ottawa General, Irving Greenberg Cancer Centre, Queensway Carleton Hospital, Royal Ottawa Hospital, and Carefor (Carling Day Program).
Memorial donations to Pancreatic Cancer Canada and Carefor (Carling Day Programs) are appreciated. Condolences and sharing of memories can be made on this page.
A celebration of Sue’s life will take place on Friday, March 24th, 2023, from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Cole’s Highland Park Cemetery
