Obituary of Kathleen Frances James

JAMES, Kathleen Frances (nee Johnston)

April 25, 1933 – November 10, 2022

Fran James of Kinburn, beloved wife of the late Fred James for 60 years, passed peacefully in her sleep at Forest Hill in Kanata.

Fran was beloved by everyone, especially her five children, Sandra (Bob), Catherine, Lynn (Tim), David and Ian (Catherine) and her six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Fran met Fred at a dance in Sudbury when they were both teenagers, and they remained inseparable. Fran worked as an X-ray Technician before having her children and returned to work as a well-regarded swimming instructor at the Nepean Sportsplex. Fran was an avid knitter, sewer, and crafter, and gave of her time to volunteer work for many causes. Her positive outlook, deep empathy and sense of humour will be deeply missed by her family and friends. The family wishes to express their gratitude to staff at Forest Hill for their exceptional care. A celebration of the lives of both Fran and Fred will be held in the Spring.
