Obituary of Delfin (Jun) Obas Jr.
Delfin (Jun) Obas Jr, 83, of Kanata, Ontario, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, surrounded by family.
He was born to parents Delfin Sr (Dad) and Maura (Mamang) on March 21, 1939, in Manila, Philippines. Jun received a business degree – accounting from the Far Eastern University, Manila Philippines. Although a professional accountant by trade, Jun was the head chef of the Obas clan where his cooking was legendary.
He married Gloria (Baby), the love of his life, in 1969, who survives him. Jun is also survived by son Allan and partner Maura, Arnold and partner Sonya and Arnel and partner Yoshiko, as well his treasured grandchildren Kane, Hana, Alysha, Lianna and Marielle.
Dear brother of Mely, Rick (Josie), Nick (Eve), Fred (Carol), Manny (Betty), Cora (Tom), Cynthia (Claude), Romeo and Jobie (Lorelie). Jun was predeceased by parents Delfin Sr (Dad) and Maura (Mamang) and brothers Filimon (Primy), Roberto (Cora) and sister Lydia (Tony). He will be missed by all our wonderful family from across Canada, Philippines and the US.
We are very blessed to have had him in our lives. We are at peace that he is now home with God. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” - Revelation 21:4
Visitation will be held at Highland Park Remembrance Chapel, 2037 McGee Side Rd, Carp on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place in the Chapel on Thursday, December 15 at 11 a.m. Inurnment and reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated.
