My name is John Hartigan, and I was a friend and fellow cyclist/runner/ neophyte paddler of Ron's through the 80's, 90's, and 00's. I want to extend my sincere condolences to his family, and the many friends he leaves behind. I would enjoy the opportunity to visit with you, and share my happy memories of adventures which I was fortunate to share with Ron.. in Africa, Hawaii, Central and South America, Europe, and the U.S. and Canada. Rest In Peace Friend. John Hartigan, 1-402-553-5369; 900 Farnam St. #608, Omaha, NE 68102; email johnhartiganjr@gmail.com

I’m remembering the times on trip with Ron where he was always willing to help, curious about everything and just a good person to be around. He will be missed. Madawaska River trip early 90’s? The eyeglasses down to see in photo 2 is a Ron gesture. Condolences to all who knew him, family and friends.

Kim Buckley posted a condolence

Uncle Ronny, my elusive uncle...you will be sorely missed. My most vivid memory of uncle Ron was one Sunday dinner at mom and dads long ago. We were all seated at the table, Mom, dad, Nadine, Tanya, my fiancée (Ken) and I, and in sweeps uncle Ron. Seemingly out of nowhere, big smile on his face and Ken says, “that’s Ronny? I didn’t believe he existed!!”
That was uncle Ron, always moving, biking in some foreign land, or canoeing in Gods country. I will always remember!
You are in my heart for all time. Love!!
Kimmy (as you’d like to call me)
