Obituary of Desiree Skye Butt-Gabriel
Desiree Skye Butt- Gabriel, 34, passed away 2 days shy of her 35th Birthday on November 7th, 2022, after a short and torturous battle with cancer. A beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend.
She is already tremendously missed by surviving members of the family including her Mother and Father, Rosan and Ricky Butt-Gabriel, her Brothers Jason and Mehki; Sister in Law Estephany, Niece Raisa Nya, who she absolutely cherished, and numerous extended family members. Desiree was greeted in heaven by both sets of Grandparents and other relatives who predeceased her.
Most of you knew Desiree as a creative and talented “Baker”; however, she was far more than that. Desiree was a (melomaniac) she had a passion for all genres of music, it was her therapy; and often went to concerts and shows whenever she could, to hear her all-time favorite music and artists. She loved old movies, while often curled up with a good serial killer book, cup of tea, her favourite blanket watching “the oldies”. She collected all things Star Wars (“not the Disney version of course, but the George Lucas franchise”) and Golden Girls, she “loved those old Queens” She binged on Handmaids Tale, Game of Thrones, Bobs Burgers, Sister Wives, Housewives of Atlanta and any and all baking shows she could find. She watched (repeatedly) any documentary or movie on JFK, Mobsters and any and all serial killers. Desiree was an “outgoing” introvert, who had “limited” people energy, but often wanted to be there for her Family and Friends. Desiree was an empathetic and caring woman who spent most of her life thinking about others. She always surrounded herself with her friends and family, which is where she felt most comfortable and loved. Desiree approached every single new experience, with a thirst for knowledge and enthusiasm. She was funny, energetic, kind, intelligent, compassionate, independent, observant, a good friend, a great sister, and a wonderful daughter.
Desiree loved her family, cherished her friends, and fought hard. Her fighting spirit, fierce love, and tender concern for those around her will be dearly missed.
In lieu of Flowers, donations to Endometrial Cancer in Desiree's name would be appreciated.
