Obituary of Anna Alice Daze
(nee Shields)
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Anna Alice Daze on October 20th 2022, at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late Charles Daze (deceased in 1996). Loving Mother of Brian (Brenda), Sheila, Donald, Peter, Mary Lou (Kelvin), David (Paula) and CarolAnne (Michael). Treasured Grandmother of Michelle, Sarah (Ben), Alex (Courtney), Jennifer, Marianne (Alex), Mark (Kiley), Jillian (Kevin), Charlie, Grace and Kate. Cherished Greatgrandmother of James, Taite and Kitch. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her four brothers Camillus, Erwin, Frank and Gerry and her parents Kathleen and Patrick Shields.
Anna was a devout Catholic, attending St. Basils Parish for many years. She ensured all seven children were dressed in their Sunday best for mass every Sunday! Anna was kind and generous and always tried to live her life in accordance with her deep faith. Anna was committed to her community, volunteering at her children's schools and with the Liberal Party of Canada. Once her children were older, Anna found a career at Agriculture Canada. She was also President of the Residents Council at New Orchard Lodge Nursing Home.
The family wishes to thank the staff at New Orchard Lodge for the outstanding service and love they provided to Anna over the past 12 years.
Friends are invited to visit at Pinecrest Remembrance Services, 2500 Baseline Road on Friday November 4th from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 153 Woodroffe Ave, on Saturday, November 5th at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers donation to the Parkinson's Society would be appreciated.
