Finally, was able to watch the beautiful service and enjoyed learning more of their journey together. Brought back many memories of gathering with family and friends. Mairi always had that little huh hum noise something like that when listening. I'm sure now that she is reunited with her husband Donnie, they will be showing off how light they were on their feet when dancing together. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Our family was blessed when we met Mairi and she became my Mother's sister-in-law. We have so many fond memories of her and Donny when they visited Cartier Street. I am thankful for the life and love of my dear Sister-in-law Mairi. I am grateful to have shared many happy times with her and her family both on Palace Drive and on Farquhar Street. Mairi was a great cook and Neil and I enjoyed many dinners on a warmed-up plate. This lovely lady loved chocolate and like her late brother Neil, she never met a chocolate that she didn’t like! I have always admired her big smile. Whenever she was asked how she felt, her response was always “Oh, I am just fine”. Mairi will live on in our hearts, that is a certainty! Love Elsie.
A beautiful life that came to an end, she died as she lived, everyone’s friend.
In our hearts her memory will always be kept of one we loved and will never forget.

Alice and Kenneth Allan send sincere condolences to all Mairi’s family. I have such fond memories of growing up next door to the Murrays, particularly Mairi, in Barvas whom I considered an extension of our own family. I was the little one who always tagged along with bosom buddies Mairi and my sister Mary Helen. Their ingenuity at getting away from me occasionally was quite clever - role playing where I was always the baby and put in the wheelbarrow for a nap!
Kenneth and I also fondly remember the warm welcome we received from Mairi and Donnie when we visited them in Canada. Rest in Peace Mairi.

Margaret and William at 54 Lower Barvas send warm and loving sympathy to all Mairi's family . Losing your cherished mother and grandmother just tears your heart apart . May God bless you all .
Mairi brought joy to her home at 52 LB and to our little corner of the village from the day she was born . Our families , the Murrays at 52 and the McDougalls at 54 were wonderfully close neighbours. . As children we operated as one unit . Time and distance never severed these bonds .
We rejoiced with Mairi when she moved to Secondary School, when she started her first job , got engaged and as a beautiful young bride married Donnie MacDonald in the Barvas Free Church.
Her children were her pride and joy and she enjoyed bringing them back home to visit their loving grandparents, Finlay and Jessie .

Deepest condolences to all Mairis family on the loss of their lovely mum. She was my forever friend having grown up together and in touch all our adult life. Going to miss our facetime calls which Jessie-Lynn organised for us right up to days before she passed. She never complained and was so cheery and positive in spite of her health. For as long as I can remember I’ve always thought my Granny was so elegant, sweet and happy. I’ll never forget going to dinner at Granny and Shennar’s and watching her eat her dinner off a side plate like a little bird… yet she always enjoyed two servings of dessert. Or our bond over the fear of escalators. I’ll always remember the day she met Lennon, he was a very colicky baby yet the second he was placed in her arms he stopped crying and was mesmerized by her. She was the sweetest, we’ll think of her always I feel a great sense of warmth and happiness over the thought of her and Shennar being together, picturing his bright smile waiting with open arms to help her move along. My heart breaks for my Aunty Lynn, who has always been a solid rock in our lives and has spent many years doing anything big or small to make my Granny’s day.

Kayla and I sat and thought about the different memories we have with our granny. So many special moments come to mind. My most vivid memories are from their home on Palace Drive. Eating roast beef dinner with that odd strawberry foam dessert that was so strange, but so delicious. Their cork (were they cork?) placemats also always stood out to me. After dinner, tea in the living room with their large tuperware container of mixed biscuits. Sitting in her big recliner watching coronation street together. It's the simple moments that have stuck with me. I'll miss her voice and cheeky wit on the other end of the phone. I'm so grateful for our granny. She will be immensely missed by many. Now she's up there with Shennar and they're dancing the night away.
