I worked with Dave for almost 30 years. He was one of the most dedicated and hardest working people I knew. On a personal side Dave had equally admirable qualities. He was kind, friendly, and extremely patient. I cannot ever remember him getting angry. It is also telling that every year Dave spent a lot of time and effort growing a huge vegetable garden. When I asked him why he (a devoted carnivore whose primary vegetable was french fries) would do this, he replied simply that he liked to give it away to people. Dave was a wonderful person, and the world is worse off without him.
