To Eric and family
I was so sad to hear of Barb’s passing. Barb and I were friends from the very first day we met in kindergarten. We were both enrolled in the Salvation Army school in Windsor, NL. We grew up together and were always very active socially in both church and school activities.
I was with Barb the very first time she met Eric. We decided to change our schedule and attend the Salvation Army citadel in Grand Falls. After service Eric offered to give us a ride home, the rest is history. It was love at first sight!
Barb and I moved on with our lives and ended up on opposite sides of the country. We corresponded through Christmas letters and we did occasionally met up over the years. To skate on the Rideau Canal, to enjoy delicious Beaver Tails. We always had fun when we met up.
Barb was highly intelligent and always came top of her class. Not only was she intelligent but she also had a great sense of humor. I remember in one of her letters she wrote, “ I would enclose a picture of myself but it won’t fit into the envelope.” Who else would say that but Barb! Rest in peace my dear friend.

Sincere condolences to all family members on the passing of Barbara. I met Barbara many years ago when she and three of her girlfriends visited Buchans, possibly to attend a hockey game. They intended to drive back home that night, but my parents would not hear of that, so they spent overnight at my parents' home in Buchans. Mom and Dad took a real liking to Barbara and spoke of her many times after. May God's love surround you and grant you peace as you mourn the loss of this special lady. What a beautiful photo of her! Len joins me in this expression of sympathy.

To Uncle Eric, Lynn, Kristine, David, Keith & Families..
Our sincere condolences on the passing of Aunt Barb.
We have a lot of great memories during their visits to NL and in earlier years our visits to Ottawa.
I loved her laugh, she was funny.. She loved being by the water, swimming in Badger Lake, ( her very favorite) and going in boat at Michael’s Harbour with my dad..
She enjoyed her/their life until a couple of years when her health started to deteriorate.. It was a shock to us all.
God called her to her Heavenly Home , her confusion and restlessness is no more. She will be missed.
We pray that God will give you peace, strength and a beautiful presence as you reminisce and share special memories during this difficult time…
We love you all..
Joan & Allan Hawkins

Dear Uncle Eric, Kris , Lynn, Keith, Dave, and all the family. We are so saddened with the passing of sweet Aunt Barb. There are so many wonderful memories throughout the years, both in Newfoundland, and in Ottawa. I remember with fondness many laughs at Badger Lake. Nearly every year since I can remember, Uncle Eric and Aunt Barb visited Newfoundland. In more recent years, we've had the pleasure of visiting Ottawa on many occasions. I always looked forward to our scrambled egg breakfasts and multiple slices of toast smothered with Smuckers apricot jam ( which she always seemed to be heavily stocked with). Heartfelt condolences to each and every one of you...thinking of you all.
Love, Paul and Dena
