Obituary of Evelyne de Frahan
Evelyne Marguerite de Frahan passed away peacefully at 85 years old in Ottawa on June 16, 2022. Predeceased by her loving husband Baudouin “Bud” Henry de Frahan.
Loving ‘Mamy’ of Patricia, Caroll, Pascale, Joan (Derek Lawless), and Cindy (Peter) O’Leary, much loved grandmother of Zacchari, Michael (Manon), Lauren (Cody), Christopher (Elly), Pascale (Andrew), Alexandra (Hannah), Liam, Curtis, Aidan, Basile and Ophelie, and great-grandmother of Jacob, Isabella, Griffin, Shamus, Nate, Nico, and Mackenzie.
Evelyne was born in Belgium and lived in the Congo before moving to Montreal with our father, Bud, and started our family. She was a gifted floral designer by profession, enjoyed making delicious meals, gardening, sewing, bird watching, breeding Airedales, listening to Latin music, travelling, playing tennis, and was an avid reader and history buff. Our dear Mamy remained proudly independent living in the family home almost until she passed away, enjoying the beauty of her backyard that she and our father lovingly tended for years. We would like to thank all those who were involved in her care over the years, including Dr. Joy Weisbloom, the medical and support staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Ottawa Heart Institute, the Civic Hospital and the Local Health Integration Network.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Evelyne’s favourite charities Harvest House Ministries of Ottawa and Canadian Wildlife Federation, or to the Ottawa Heart Institute, would be appreciated.
