I would like to express my deepest condolences to John's family and friends. I only met John four years ago, and in that short time he made quite the impression on me. He always had a kind word and a big smile to share. John was a regular customer of mine at the Chances R restaurant and I always looked forward to him coming in. I enjoyed listening to him share his stories of Margaret, his family and his latest trip to go see his great grand daughter. Please know John will continue to live on through you and give you unbelievable strength. No matter how old we are, it's never easy to lose a parent. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you grieve. He will be missed.

I was shocked and stunned to read of John's sudden death in Broadcast Dialogue this morning. He was a wonderful business colleague for many years when we both worked not only at CJOH in Ottawa but when I worked at CTV. We met frequently at many broadcast meetings in Canada and the US. After retirement we both kept in touch and, in fact ,it was not long ago that I received one of his forwarded uplifting messages. My heartfelt condolences to his many family members whom he loved dearly.

Our condolences to the Beveridge family on hearing of Johns sudden passing. I have fond memories of visiting the Beveridge house with my parents on the night of the Oscars to watch the awards show. There was always time to play with Graham, Christopher, Michael, and Susan. We played an early generation Formula racing video game, turning the small portable TV sideways to make it more "realistic" as the car raced forward. My father, Rolf, worked with John in the early years at the CBC. Their friendship grew, with John becoming my Godfather, with my father Godfather to Graham. Sincerely Rolf, Oliver, and Kim.

I had the privilege of working with his so kind gentle Margaret who I so enjoyed and fortunate for me had the pleasure of meeting John on several occasions and sharing several lunches together with him and Margaret. Even after my dear coworker and friend Margaret passed away. We kept in touch with Christmas cards and messages here and there. I even had a lovely phone message from him during this awful pandemic of his reassuring words after we spoke briefly before in messenger. A true gentle man, and having been Margaret’s husband was not surprising. I’m sure he was welcomed with the biggest open arms of his beautiful Margaret. RIP John and hugs to Margaret for me.

I can't actually recall if I ever met John Beveridge but as a young Algonquin College student I had a fateful conversation with him when he worked at CJOH-TV. I remember talking to him about my worries about getting into journalism and he was nice enough to encourage me to pursue my passion for writing. I did go into journalism shortly after our conversation and spent 38 wonderful years as a general news reporter at The Ottawa Citizen. I'd think to think that John had something to do with that. I remember him being a caring, thoughtful man who spent time with a novice reporter like me decades ago. So, I was saddened to learn about his passing and offer my condolences to his family. Thank you John, R.I.P.

Sending condolences to John's family who he loved so very, very much. He will be missed but the memories will stay with us and there are so very many. I will miss our long chats reminiscing about his beloved Margaret and his family, and the good old days at CJOH and how the world had changed!!! Thank you John for being such a dear and thoughtful friend to me and, before his passing, Neville.
