Obituary of George Edward MacManus, Major (Ret'd)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Edward MacManus in hospital on Saturday, May 14, 2022. Born in Moncton, NB on May 19, 1938, he is the son of the late Roy and Marjorie MacManus of Moncton, NB. George attended the Royal Military College (RMC) and Mount Allison University, and completed his Master degree in Photographic Science at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester New York. He was married to Elaine (nee Loggie) for 51 years, who passed in 2016. Together, they traveled the globe after retirement. George was passionate about aviation and actively involved within the philatelic community since his childhood. George was a long-time member of Dominion Chalmers United Church. George is survived by his sons Kirk and Dwight (Grace), and his grandsons Mitchell and James.

 

Family will receive friends at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be followed by a reception in the Pinecrest Reception Centre.
