I am truly sadden by the passing of Marek. I enjoyed each of my visits with him as we often talked about family and his roots. Unfortunately, I am just recovering from Covid (still testing positive) and will not be able to attend any of the services for Malek. I just wanted to pass on my deepest condolences to his Family at such a sad time.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn that my good friend Marek and the beloved Dr Dobro had passed away suddenly. His family, friends and patients lost a very good man.
Dr Dobro was larger that life, a big man with a big voice with many colourful expressions. He was also a kind and caring man, a skilled surgeon who helped so many. He especially helped me. As chief of Medicine in the hospital in Blanc Sablon, he ensured my returning visits to the hospital and this community of this and the many villages of the lower North Shore. Under Dr Dobro, I learned many surgical skills and not only I, but many of my collègues were always we reassured when he was there, because we could count on his knowledge and experience.
Dr Dobro even helped my children and future doctors come and experience working there and especially having the privilege of meeting him.
When I learned that Dr Dobro, but especially my friend Marek, died I remembered all the wonderful moments that we shared, eating the many delicious a polish dishes he prepared. Not only was Marek an excellent doctor he was also an excellent Polish chef. He was also an expert wild mushroom picker and an expert smoker of fish, and I particularly remember an elaborate cold smoker he had set up by the shores of the St Lawrence. Needless to say, his smoked fish were a delicacy!
I am deeply saddened to have lost my good friend Marek, a devoted doctor and a n extremely devoted man to his family which he always talked about with so much love and so much pride. To them I express my deepest and sincerest sympathies. And to all his patients and all his friends on the lower North shore, know that I share in your sorrow.
May you Rest In Peace my good friend Marek and our beloved Dr Dobro now and forever,
