Obituary of Maria Odete Correia

It is with the heaviest and saddest hearts that we announce the passing of Odete, on Friday, March 25th, 2022, in the presence of her daughter Rosa and son-in-law Manuel Sebastian at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.

She leaves in sorrow her brother Antonio (Palmira), much-loved niece and goddaughter Fatima (Paulo and their daughter Alicia); nephews Dominic (Maria) and Tony (Nina); great-nephews April (Curtis, children Audrey and Cole), Steven (Hannah, children Ava and Adeline), Alexandra (Michael), Michael; and many more family in Portugal.

She is predeceased by her parents Mario and Beatriz; her sister Beatriz (Agostinho) and brothers Manuel (Teresa) and Joaquim (Merosa).

Odete was a gentle soul with a warm smile and was loved by all who met her and in the Portuguese community. She will be missed by her many friends and family both in Canada and Portugal.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Cole Funeral Services, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Sunday, April 3, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. A time of refreshments and fellowship will follow in the Pinecrest Solarium.
