Obituary of Melvin Gilmour

Melvin, known by some as "Sport," most by Mel, and adoringly by his many nieces and nephews as Uncle Mellie, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the age of 90. His mind was healthy, but his body didn't last.  Mel was the dear husband of Hannah (Stanley), beloved father of Kim and Kathy McCarron (Jeff), and was predeceased by his brother Ronnie. 

Mel retired after many years as a draftsman for JL Richards & Assoc. He loved golfing, coaching girls softball, camping, curling, skiing, squash, his Thursday night poker club, spending time at the Ottawa Nepean Canadian Sports Club, being a grandparent to Jackie and Sarah, more recently sailing, and visiting with friends and family. 

A celebration of life will take place this summer.
