Obituary of Hertha Weigert

Hertha passed away Tuesday February 15, 2022.  Beloved wife of the late Joseph Frank Weigert.  Dear mom of Jenny (Ed), Katherine (Eric) and Linda (Ron).  Very proud Gramma of Derek (Jen), Mark (Lori), Keith (Laura), Ryan (Heather), Kyle (Natalie) and Lauren (Matt).  Great Gram to Easton, Gus, Jori, Sable and Reid.

Hertha was born in Ottawa, educated in a one-room country schoolhouse in Richmond, Ontario.  She attended Business College and worked several years for the Federal Government, before her marriage to Joe in 1953. Mom could remember every detail and was a master at preparedness.  A very resilient lady who survived both ovarian and breast cancer. A kind, beautiful soul, who deeply cherished her family.  Gram’s kitchen was a busy place, with meals that could feed 10 hungry farmers.  There was always a steady flow of baked goods.  

Mom and family are ever so grateful to family physician Dr. C. Vernooy.  Thank you to the caring Medical Teams at The Ottawa Hospital and Queensway Carleton Hospital.  A special thank you to physician assistant Chris MacEachern at St. Vincent.  A heartfelt thank you to Stirling Park Retirement Community for their kindness, care and support.

A Private Funeral Service will be held for the family.  Donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or a charity close to your heart.
