Gordon Ford James Holmes

1938 - 2022

With much sadness, after a valiant battle Gordon, passed away this past Friday, February 11th at home. Survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Marjorie (nee Jones).  Loving father of Rhonda & Kent. Proud grandfather of Denali.  Caring brother to Virtue Beurling, Vi Lowe (Bob) and Reta Desmarais (John). Predeceased sister Faith McPhail (Gerry) and by parents Mary Ann & Frederick Russell Holmes. Special Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dedicated son-in-law to the late Mary Doris and Peter Jones. Much loved brother-in-law and uncle to the Jones family.

Gordon was an enthusiastic outdoorsman and volunteered his time to The Optimist Club of Nepean, Friends in Sport Fishing and Ham Radio Emergency Response.

We extend thanks and gratitude to all the support workers, nurses and doctors that cared for him over the past months and few years for their kindness and compassion that allowed him to stay at home and live with dignity.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11am in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa.  A private interment will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations can be made to the Ottawa Humane Society or Diabetes Canada.
