Obituary of Matthew Spencer Corey

After a three-year battle with cancer, it is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved son, brother and friend Matthew.  Matthew was predeceased by his father Wayne Corey.  He leaves behind to mourn, his mother Jill Devlin (Roger Verdon), his stepmother Kitty Carson and his brother Joey Devlin (Alicia) and their children Hailey, Brooke and Wesley as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Matthew was at heart a kind, gentle and loving soul who cared deeply for his family and friends. We know Matt is now at peace walking around Heaven with his dog Bubbles at his side and a coffee in his hand chatting with those who went before him.  Many thanks to his Uncle Lorne Anderson and his wife Stephanie for their support at this devastating time.

Matthew also leaves behind his large extended family in Whistler B.C. especially his best friend Jordan Williams his wife Audra and their family. Matt and Jordan bonded over their love of the mountain and frisbee golf which they played often over their almost 30-year friendship. They will also remember his amazing guitar skills.

At Matthew’s request his ashes will travel to Whistler with his brother Joey to join Jordan, Audra and the rest of his Creekside friends this summer for a celebration of life on the mountain he loved.
