I was so sorry to hear that this vibrant, dynamic and caring person has departed this plane of existence. I worked with Ros at customs at Vancouver Airport, but got to know her much better when I worked briefly at Rigaud where she was teaching. She invited me to live in the townhouse set aside for 3 staff, which was a huge improvement over a dorm room. We had some very good meals and times together, and she shared her very soft side which wasn't always seen by others at that time. Regrettably, we lost touch over the years, but I never forgot this wonderful person. My sincere condolences to Ros's family and friends. John Cowan, Pender Island, B.C.

I am so very sad to hear this news about this wonderful person who lit up the room. I first met Ros when we were junior Customs officers at YVR, in our early 20's. I especially remember her her humour, her fine intellect and her fearlessness, and for being someone passionate about singing, justice, and Newcastle. In recent times her Facebook postings cheered my days. She will be missed. My heartfelt condolences go to David and the other members of Ros's family on this sad loss.

I am making this donation to CAMMAC in memory of a very special and courageous lady. We have shared our love of music, and especially singing together, so it seems appropriate to honour Ros by supporting an organization that provides opportunities for so many to share the joy of making music together. May music and the memories it holds help to bring you comfort in the days ahead.

Our deepest condolences to David and all of Ros's family and extended family. Ray and I both knew Ros as we worked with her or were trained by here during our careers with Customs. Ros also loved Newfoundland and we enjoyed sharing pictures with her and David of our adventures and enjoyed spending time with them both during one of their many visits. David, may your happy memories help you get through this sad time. Thinking of you, Christina and Ray Broccolo

Ros and I met 40 years ago, when we were both on training secondments to the Customs College in Rigaud, Quebec. We shared many good times together, from bar-hopping in Montreal to doing the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzles over the telephone. We could rely on each other, even when we were in total disagreement with each other. Although our paths haven’t crossed very often since then, I always enjoyed it when they did. My deepest sympathy to David and her other family members. She’s joined the Choir of Angles. Shirley Schmidt Willing

I met Rosalind a couple of times with David at CMHC. She was a force to be reckon with and it was quite obvious that she could move mountains both from her very kind words and multiple involvements in the community. My sympathies to David and all the family.

Ros and I were friends from the moment Ros started at Canada Customs, Pearson Airport in Toronto in the mid 1980’s.
The two culture vultures, as she used to refer to us as, would go to theatre, ballet and concerts. We made a road trip to Lanaudiere in Quebec when Ros had a gig singing Carmina Burana with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir.
Ros got me started on cycling, participating in the Ride for Heart in Toronto and a 2 day MS ride in Ottawa.
When we heard that the government would pay our expenses to volunteer with Security at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta we signed up right away! The accommodations left a lot to be desired but we had a grand time meeting law enforcement officers from all over the world and taking in the Olympic experience .In 2010 we volunteered again at the Vancouver Olympics.
What fun we had Ros! So many wonderful memories of our adventures together.
My heart is with you David, Alison, Carolyn and your families.
You are singing with the Angels now Ros.
