Obituary of Jean Elizabeth Turner
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Jean Elizabeth Turner (née Hutton) on November 8, 2021, after a long and courageous fight against cancer. Elder daughter of the late Judge Robert Barclay Hutton and Jean Francis Hutton (née Keywood), Jean is survived by her husband John Kebe, sons Alex Turner (Alicia McCarthy) and Geoff Turner, grandchildren William, Georgina and Blaire, sister Joan Rivard (Don), loving members of husband John’s family Matthew Kebe (Kelly) and Alexandra Fletcher (Dave), Jacob, Curtis, Olivia, Winter, Alex and Ariana, and her first husband Tim Turner (Barbara Potts).
Jean was called to the Bar at Osgoode Hall in 1974 and spent her law career at the Corporations Branch of the Department of Consumer and Corporate Affairs in Ottawa. She was a painter of delicate watercolours and a regular traveller to Europe. She enjoyed gardening, birds, trees, canoe camping and golfing with John.
We will always remember the love and support she gave her children, and her warm and playful way with her grandchildren, whom she adored.
Jean carried herself with the same dignity in the face of death as she had through life. She left a beautiful and indelible mark on the world and will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Cole Funeral Services & Pinecrest Remembrance, 2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa. Attendance will be limited, we kindly ask you to RSVP HERE
