Obituary of Santosh K. Bhaskar

Mrs. Santosh Bhaskar, 94, passed away peacefully on November 6th, 2021 in the presence of her children.

Late Mrs. Bhaskar was born to Pandit Bishan Das and Durga Devi on 2nd December 1926 in Wadala Khurd, Punjab, India, She was preceded in death by her husband, Rajinder Nath Bhaskar, brother Bua Das Shourie and daughter Joginder Bala Sharma (late P L Sharma). She is survived by her sons Onkar Bhaskar (Harkesh) and Shiv Bhasker (Suman); her daughters, Sharda Sharma (Ashwani Kumar, Advocate), Promila Bhasker (Sudhir), Shashi Ahuja (Anil) and Meenakshi Forsythe (Michael); her grandchildren, Prashant Sharma (Anuradha), Paritosh Sharma (Geeta), Priya Batish (Dinesh, Advocate)), Dr. Rajni Sharma, Dr. Anu Sharma (Dr. Atul Kalhan), Natasha Sharma (Addl. Dist & Sessions Judge), Ritu Bhasker, Manish Bhasker (Nadine), Anish Ahuja, Anika Ahuja, Dr. Rahul Bhaskar, Radhika Bhaskar, Dr. Marika Forsythe, Dr. Vikas Bhasker, Vandna Bhasker; and great-grandchildren, Gunika Sharma, Gehna Sharma, Paras Puru Sharma, Divya Batish, Yakshi Batish, Brij Raj Bhasker, Devan Gohil, Amulya Kalhan, Anushka Kalhan; and several family members and friends.

She came to Canada in 1974 and made a home in Nova Scotia. She had several friends who enjoyed her company and cooking. An ardent Hindu, she regularly attended religious services at Durga Devi Temple. Despite her age Mrs. Bhaskar was very active and involved in many community activities right until the very end.

She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and a friend to many. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her and loved her.

Visitation will be held at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre on Wednesday, November 10 from 10am to 11am followed by a service at 12 noon. The service can be attended or viewed online by clicking HERE
